One of the things that I personally find annoying is the idea that it’s a leaders responsibility to inspire other people. Of course, there are leaders who are inspirational, but what makes that person inspirational is the fact that they touch some nerve or core within us that inspires us to be better/do better/reach for better. This notion that it is up to other people to ‘inspire’ us is a little bit lame. What if we learn how to be our own biggest sources of inspiration? To do that, spend time understanding what your strengths are; what your values are; and what you need to do to make yourself feel inspired and engaged. When you know what inspires you, you’ll know where to look get the inspiration you need to move ahead.
