In my experience, the early stage of any career is the time to experiment and take risks. It’s a time of figuring out what you love, where your strengths lie and how your values line up to your work. As you progress further into your career, you want to start to become more choosy about how new opportunities line up to your needs and wants. Mid-career moves become more risky because they become more and more about “fit” aka culture. Here’s my favourite question to ask to find out if there is a culture issue before you make a big job move.
