The Premise: Bruce Tulgan’s latest offering flies in the face of the current trend in management practices (emphasizing talents and focusing on high performers) and puts his finger on a huge issue for corporations: undermanagement. He challenges bosses everywhere to step up to the plate, outline expectations, follow-through on performance issues, correct failures and reward successes. The advice is practical, useful and easy to implement.

The Bottom-line: Consider this one mandatory reading for new managers and for those of us who need to remind ourselves about the things we should be doing, but may not be doing consistently!
