Glain Roberts-McCabe, Coaching Expert, Founder & President of The Roundtable, was recently selected as Top Group and Peer Coaching Expert of the Year for 2024 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the industry.
Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself; only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.
With over twenty-five years of experience in the industry, Ms. Roberts-McCabe has certainly proven herself as an expert in her field. As a dynamic, results driven leader, Ms. Roberts-McCabe is the Founder and President of The Roundtable, where Glain and her team are helping today’s generation of leaders bring more intentional leadership to their work and the world. Glain launched The Roundtable in 2007 as a place where leaders could cultivate their leadership together. Through their innovative and multi-award-winning Peer-to-Peer Group Coaching Programs and their “leaders teaching leaders” community, the Roundtable is reimagining the traditional consulting firm model.
Their signature Roundtable for Leaders peer coaching program has won multiple awards for its innovative approach and ability to drive measurable impact for clients like PepsiCo Foods Canada, CAA Club Group, Wildbrain, and Pelmorex Corp to name a few. Most recent honours include the 2022 and 2023 Brandon Hall Gold Award for Best Advance in Leadership Development and two 2023 International Coach Federation (ICF) Prism Awards (Toronto).
In 2016, The Roundtable was named the top external consultancy in Canada by the Canadian HR Awards and in 2018, Glain was named one of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs by Women of Influence.
Glain has been at the executive table for over 30 years and successfully led a variety of teams in both the profit and not-for-profit arenas. A sought-after facilitator, coach, interview guest, moderator, Glain is also a two-time Amazon bestselling author of Did I REALLY Sign Up for This?! and The Grassroots Leadership Revolution. Glain was one of a select group of coaches globally invited to appear in Dr. Marshall Goldsmith’s (#1 best-selling author of What got you here, won’t get you there) 2019 biographical film, The Earned Life.
Glain’s areas of expertise include peer coaching, team coaching, group facilitation, group and panel moderation and behavioral coaching. Leveraging a combination of positive psychology and brain-based methodologies, Glain is adept at creating coaching programs that help organizations move beyond a reliance on heroic leadership and instead, tap into a broader, collective impact.
Roberts-McCabe is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and a life-long learner. She is certified in a variety of assessment tools with organizations like Team Coaching International, Management Research Group, The Coaches Training Institute, The Centre for Right Relationships and The School of Shadow Coaching. In addition, she also holds a diploma in Creative Advertising and completed advanced Improv Training through Second City.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Roberts-McCabe has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her accomplishments. This year she will be considered for the Empowered Woman Award and to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. She will be honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville next December for her selection as Top Group and Peer Coaching Expert of the Year.
In addition to her successful career, Glain also emphasizes the importance of giving back. In 2022, Glain launched the #Impact215 project in response to the discovery of 215 children’s bodies buried at the site of a former Indigenous residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. The Roundtable’s #Impact215 project aims to fund 215 scholarships and bursaries for Canada’s Indigenous students over the next five years in honor of the residential school tragedy. To accelerate the program, Glain has formed a consortium group with other training and coaching companies to expand their impact. An active volunteer, Glain is currently Chair of the Programming Committee for the ISA: Association of Learning Providers.
The President of the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), Stephanie Cirami, stated: “Choosing Ms. Roberts-McCabe for this honor was an easy decision for our panel to make. Ms. Roberts-McCabe is inspirational, influential, and a true visionary and thought leader. We cannot wait to meet her and celebrate her accomplishments at this year’s gala.”
Looking back, Glain attributes her success to her perseverance, work ethic, and the mentors she has had along the way. When not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, her daughter and her dog, Bella. In the future, she hopes to continue to inspire leaders at all levels to be the best they can be in order to make our world a better place for all.
