Here’s a fun fact: right now 100 of our Canadian Olympic athletes need funding in order to get to the Rio Olympics. Can you believe that? 100 elite athletes aren’t fully funded to attend the Games that are just weeks away. Let’s face it, the Olympics is like one giant team building event for our country…doesn’t it seem strange to you that we can all sit and enjoy the efforts of our Olympians while they toil under loans and debt just to compete? So, with Canada Day upon us, it seems like an opportune time to invite members of our community to support two amazing community leaders in making sure ALL our athletes can get to Rio.
Jane Roos and her husband, former Canadian Volleyball Olympian and PanAm Games gold medalist Conrad Leinemann, are the drivers of CANFund – a Canadian charity that helps Canadian athletes succeed on the world stage. Here’s a fun fact: Did you know that when Conrad was at the Olympics he had to purchase his own volleyballs? Do you find that as ridiculous as I do?
In celebration of Canada’s 149th birthday, Jane and Conrad are asking Canadians from coast-to-coast to help push our remaining 100 Olympians over the funding finish line. Here’s where you can step in RIGHT NOW and make a difference:
