“It has always been a dream of mine to complete a Master’s degree to enable me to give back to the First Nations communities around my hometown of Williams Lake. I have worked alongside these Indigenous communities for many years and have wanted to advance my education in order to better serve them.
With the rising cost of education, your timely award is very much appreciated as it enables me to continue with my studies. It also reinforces my belief that I am on the right path to further invest in myself and, in turn help me to invest in myself and, in turn, help me to invest in the First Nations communities I care about. When I have graduated, I am hoping for a position with either a First Nations community as a health director, a leadership position with First Nations Health Authority or perhaps as an instructor for nursing students or health support workers. Again, thank you so much for your generous support.“
